Covenant Reformed Church of Sacramento (RCUS) is seeking a full-time senior pastor to shepherd a congregation of 200 baptized members in an urban and multicultural setting. As a congregation of the Reformed Church in the United States, we hold to the full inspiration and authority of Scripture, the Three Forms of Unity as our subordinate confessional standards, and six-day creation. Believing that the text of Scripture is supremely important both for the doctrine and life of the church, we embrace the text of the New Testament preserved in the Byzantine tradition.
We are seeking a pastor with a passion for preaching Christ crucified and risen, ministering to the saints and reaching the lost. A successful candidate must be committed to expository preaching with application (approx. 6 sermons per month), leading Bible studies, the weekly catechization of our youth as part of a three-year discipleship program, multicultural evangelism, community outreach, and hospitality. A consistent program for following up with the many people who visit us from week to week is essential.
Covenant Reformed Church also oversees the ministry of City Seminary of Sacramento. Although the senior pastor will not be involved in the seminary program, he must understand and be able to support its vision. In particular, he must be willing to work with other local church leaders from various denominational and theological backgrounds.
Position Qualifications: M.Div. Must subscribe to the Three Forms of Unity without reservation and embrace the distinctives of the RCUS.
